Embrace Barbados
Expo Zaragoza 2008 was an International Exposition regulated
by the International Expositions Bureau with a theme of “Water
and Sustainable Development.” A CARICOM initiative including
the members from Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Grenada, Haiti,
St. Vincent, Guyana and Barbados participated together in
the Caribbean Pavilion. Acute Vision worked with the other
participants as the project manager of the physical site in the
Barbados section themed “Embrace Barbados”. Our booth
represented the best of our country’s richhistory, culture, natural
beauty, business and sports.
Our primary role for the Barbados section was to conceptualise,
design, script and manage the project. As project manager we
managed construction and ensured that the production costs
were on schedule.Towards the end of the production phase and
the opening of the Expo, AcuteVisionbased onemember of staff
in Spain to ensure that this project was completed on schedule
and to our usual high communications and visual standards.
AcuteVision Inc. also scripted and produced two documentaries
a“Story ofWater” Book and collateral materials. All graphics and
communication materials were produced in three languages,
English, French and Spanish.
One of the last elements created for the Expo Zaragoza was
the “Embrace Barbados” web portal. The site showcased a
potpourri of Barbadian scenery, culture and food. It also linked
to all relevant Barbadian businesses which played a key role in
